Inspired by: Anne Lemanski sculpture

Attended an art exhibit this past weekend, featuring the work of artist, Anne Lemanski. The level of detail and intricacy in her sculpture work is fantastic - the majority of her pieces using paper and vintage finds. Being partial to birds, they were the easy favorite, but Anne takes paper sculpture to a whole other level and has created a series on daily household items like irons as well as larger scale sculptures including a menagerie of animals, and even guns (yes, as in machine guns).

I especially loved seeing this completely unexpected AK47 (pictured below) a work that the gallery director offered me a sneak peek of as it was hanging in the office. The combination of colors and texture were the perfect statement on the subject at hand. Very cool.
