A little chocolate magic

It may be summer- but it is Monday, afterall. Jump start the week with a tiny bit of chocolate! There are so many boutique chocolatiers cropping up around and about and take a look at one of our new faves- Mast Brothers.

While we have not yet had the pleasure of a first bite, they had us at hello- with their paper wrapped packaging. Not to mention that the company is founded by two brothers in the heart of Brooklyn. And  an oh so charming website as well, so hop on over for a taste!

Inspire Me Pretty: 3d Inspiration Boards

We've all become rather attached to digital inspiration boards of late- no doubt, they are an amazing tool. Super fab sites like Style Me Pretty and Flickr have made our jobs so much easier and photo sites with great technology like MosaicMaker help convey creative ideas in a snap.

But what about the 3d bits and clips you collect (c'mon, quite possibly horde)!? Aren't these the nooks and crannies of life that really inspire you? There is nothing like a 3d inspiration board to convey texture and get ideas flowing... it's just that certain something, the sense of touch that truly fosters creativity within.

We took an in depth look at studios & 3d inspiration boards from around the world. Intended to inspire, there are some innovative ideas to update your own space and to re-use some everyday materials to green your office.

Screamin' 4 Ice Cream

I don't know about you but, for me, Memorial Day marks the official start date of ice cream season (of course, I've been known to devour a banana split on a blustery January evening as well!) ;) Although thought of as the great American desert, the history of ice cream dates as far back as the 4th century. Concocted in China, it made it's way to to Europe and served as a delicacy in French and Italian royal courts.

Eventually melting it's way to the colonies it has since become a standing summertime favorite. Throughout the country almost every town boasts a home town creamery. There are local shoppes and parlors throughout the states that are thriving family businesses most of which have been scooping up summer delights for generations.

And lots of newcomers as well taking creamery specialties to an haute level. So if it's couture scoops you're after or if just a plain vanilla will do ya- these are just a few brands to consider.

What's your scoop? Tell us about your local fave... is there a creamery in your town that holds a special place near and dear? Or a particular flave your crave? Post a comment and share your dairy dip du jour!
